Located on the edge of the southern Portuguese coastline of the Mediterranean Sea, the Algarve is one of Europe`s most renowned
sunspots and prized international holiday destinations.

Popular with tourists from all over Europe, the Algarve is one of the most beautiful places on the continent with long sandy beaches, clear blue water and fantastic cultural sights and charm. The main city in the Algarve region is Faro, a traditional town with a stunning harbour and stunning beach facilities. The town has a large shopping mall but there also lots of unique boutiques to be found in the winding streets of the city. In the neighbouring towns of Albufeira and Olhao there is similar Portuguese charm with markets to browse through and gorgeous outdoor cafes where you can sit in the beaming sun and relax. Whether you are in the city of Faro or many of the charming towns and villages in the Algarve area, you will always have more than enough to keep you occupied. The weather is consistently beautiful with a warm dry climate

Getting to this Portuguese paradise is also becoming increasingly easier with many cheaper airlines offering services to the region. Most of the budget airlines fly to Faro as it is the capital of the area and is a large international airport with all of the amenities and facilities one would expect of one. Such facilities include baby changing areas, restaurants, retail areas and waiting lounges. There are also additional helpers on hand for those with disabilities, young children or even businessmen who need someone to help find souvenirs and gifts for the family. The airport is well laid out and easy to navigate around so checking in and out is usually not a problem.

Popular routes to and from Faro include flights to Liverpool, London, Dublin, Glasgow, Cologne and Lisbon from flight providers such as TUIFly, Germanwings, easyJet, Ryanair, TAP - Air Portugal and it is one of the Flybe DestinationsFlybe Destinations. Most flight times are within the framework of a normal day, so between 10 and 6 at night although there are options to land throughout the night if that is more convenient. Upon arrival in Faro there are hire cars available as well as a taxi rank so you can get to your accommodation. Once in Faro there are fantastic bus network and train network facilities linking the city to the whole of the Algarve, although an idea of basic Portuguese could be useful for the buses.
